GOP Rep. Scalise Urges Durham To Speed Up Results Of Russia Inquiry Before November’s Election

A top Republican is urging U.S. Attorney John Durham to pick up the pace with his criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation and release his findings before November’s presidential election.

***Love Trump? Stay Informed With Our FREE Trump News App***

During an interview on Fox News, Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise said people have a right to know the extent of any misconduct in the Obama administration before they go to the polls.

Scalise, the House minority whip, stressed that former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, could have been privy to the actions taken by the Obama administration in the Russia witch hunt against President Donald Trump.

“Joe Biden has serious questions to answer,” Scalise told host Jeanine Pirro.

With regards to Durham’s investigation, Scalise said, “I want to see it sped up. I sure have been vocal about that.”

He said it is because the election is coming up, and concerns have been raised about the appearances of such an inquiry reaching a climax right before the big event.

“Justice has to be served and not next December,” Scalise said. “There is an election coming up, and the American people have a lot of decisions to make. All of this ought to be factored into what they decide. To see some of the dirty stuff that went on all the way possibly to President Obama at the time and Joe Biden when he was vice president.”

Pirro then suggested Biden could have been a key player in the Russia controversy by noting the former vice president attended a White House meeting about the Intelligence Community Assessment during the presidential transition period.

“After that meeting, newly released notes show, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates was asked to stay behind along with then-FBI Director James Comey and was surprised to learn from Obama details about retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s intercepted phone calls with a Russian envoy,” the Washington Examiner reported.

“Biden was very much a part of this,” she said. “This is the Obama-Biden administration. … This was something that was discussed constantly.”

WATCH:

Attorney General William Barr, who appointed Durham to review the Russia investigation, has not dismissed the possibility of criminal prosecutions.

So it would seem that indictments may be coming, but nothing has been officially announced — yet.

Scalise’s comments come on the heels of the Department of Justice filing a motion last week to dismiss its criminal case against former White House national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn following explosive new evidence in the case.

Newly unsealed documents in Flynn’s case revealed FBI agents discussed the Army lieutenant general’s possible prosecution prior to interviewing him, leading Flynn’s lawyers to claim he was set up.

In the newly released documents, we learned that the FBI had drawn up paperwork to close the case against Flynn, but fired agent Peter Strzok made a last-minute move to keep it open.

Strzok was fired for sending countless anti-Trump text messages to Lisa Page, a former FBI lawyer with whom he was having an affair. Strzok played a critical role in going after Flynn, the new documents reveal.

Handwritten notes from the FBI — which were withheld from Flynn’s defense team for years — show that a key goal of the agents investigating Flynn was “to get him to lie so we can prosecute him or get him fired.”

House Intelligence Committee ranking Republican Rep. Devin Nunes also revealed over the weekend that the FBI’s original interview summary with Flynn is “missing.”

One could certainly make the argument that top brass at the FBI — such as Strzok and Page — may have deleted or altered Flynn’s original interview summary to make it better fit their goal, which was to charge him.

Graham: Mueller Probe ‘Scope Memo’ Shows Investigation ‘Was Illegitimate To Begin With’

Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham went scorched earth on Thursday evening following a series of bombshells about ex-special counsel Robert Mueller and the Russia investigation into President Donald Trump.

Download the FREE TrendingPolitics Mobile App so you never miss a Trump story

During an interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, the South Carolina Republican spoke about the Justice Department releasing an August 2017 memo from former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

The memo detailed the scope of Mueller’s Russia investigation and what Rosenstein had given him the authority to do with his probe.

“The legal foundation for Mueller’s appointment is crumbling,” Graham said.

“The memo to Mueller from Rosenstein was given to me fully by [Attorney General] Barr virtually unredacted. So now we know that the scope of the investigation was to look at Carter Page, [former National Security Adviser Michael] Flynn, [George] Papadopoulos and [former Trump campaign chairman Paul] Manafort as to whether or not they were working with the Russians. Now, this is in August of 2017.”

“In January of 2017,” Graham continued, “the sub source disavowed the [Christopher Steele] dossier. And without the dossier, there is no [FISA] warrant. So they knew that the Carter Page thing was a fraud. They wanted to close the case against Flynn. We have Papadopoulos on record denying working with the Russians, saying to do so would be treason. So the foundation for the Mueller investigation is crumbling.”

When Mueller was first appointed special counsel in May 2017, Rosenstein authorized him to probe “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump … any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; [and] … any other matters within the scope of [obstruction of justice laws].”

The August 2017 scope memo had largely remained redacted — until this week.

The newly released memo makes it more than clear that Rosenstein gave Mueller the authority to go after and charge members of the Trump campaign with essentially anything, which extended well beyond Russian interference efforts.

Graham then really detailed what the memo said:

“The legal foundation to justify Mueller’s appointment in my view does not exist,” Graham said. “That’s why this memo is so important. They name four people. Rosenstein tells Mueller to look at four people [on] August 2nd, 2017. Carter Page is one of the four. In January, eight months before the sub source disavowed the dossier, there was no legal justification to suspect Carter Page of being a Russian agent because it all depended on the dossier. And that crumbled in January.”

“Flynn’s case was looked at by the [FBI] field office in Washington, January the 4th of 2017,” Graham continued.

“They said there’s no reason to believe he is doing anything wrong … so there is no legitimate reason to believe any of these four were working with the Russians on August 2nd, 2017. Therefore, the entire Mueller investigation was illegitimate to begin with. That’s very important.”

WATCH:

The scope memo makes it clear that there was never any evidence of Trump-Russia collusion — and Mueller, the FBI, and DOJ knew that from the very beginning.

“On Trump–Russia, there was no factual basis for a criminal investigation, which is why Rosenstein did not attempt to articulate one in his directive appointing Mueller. Therefore, the question of whether there was a conflict requiring the appointment of a prosecutor from outside DOJ should never have been reached. Even if it had been reached, there was no conflict, which is why the FBI and DOJ had been conducting the Russia investigation for nearly a year before Mueller’s appointment. In any event, because the FBI’s counterintelligence mission is not prosecutor work, it normally does not need a DOJ prosecutor, much less an outside prosecutor,” the National Review reported.

Never-Trumper Mitt Romney trashes Trump admin’s COVID testing as ‘nothing to celebrate whatsoever’

How do you go from being governor of a blue state — Massachusetts — to a U.S. senator in a red state — Utah?

We don’t know, but Mitt Romney managed to do it. And that could help explain why he’s such a RINO and a #NeverTrumper. Well, that, and the fact that he’s never going to be president like Donald Trump.

The Utah Republican In Name Only showed his disdain for the administration and the commander-in-chief again on Tuesday as he trashed the White House’s coronavirus testing response, claiming it wasn’t anything to be proud of.

Romney pointed to a statement made by Adm. Brett Giroir, a four-star officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, who said that the United States has now tested twice the number of people per capita than South Korea has, a figure the Utah RINO claimed is misleading.

VOTE NOW: Should Comey Be Arrested For Framing General Flynn?

“I understand the politicians are going to frame data in a way that’s most positive politically. Of course, I don’t expect that from admirals,” Romney told Giroir. “But yesterday you celebrated that we had done more tests and more tests per capita even in South Korea.”

Romney then said that the U.S. population is six times larger than that of South Korea but the U.S. has about 300 times as many coronavirus deaths.

“I find our testing record nothing to celebrate whatsoever,” he said. “The fact is, their testing is going down, down, down, down now … ours our going up, up, up as they have to.”

There are other factors at play as well, but of course, Romney didn’t discuss those. For instance, while South Korea’s population is aging, the U.S. has a higher percentage per capita of persons 65 and over — and we know the disease attacks and kills older people at a higher rate.

And while there may be reasons to criticize the Trump administration over its coronavirus response (we don’t think there are any good reasons to do so, mind you), bashing the president over testing is not one of those reasons.

First of all, we’ve gone from zero to 100 mph regarding testing in about two months. Readers may recall that the first batches of coronavirus tests sent out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in early February were faulty and tainted — and it took about a month for the agency to get new and better ones manufactured.

None of that was President Trump’s fault.

***Help Us TAKE DOWN The Liberal Media With Our TRUMP News Mobile App!***

But since then, testing manufacturing has ramped up and the tests have become faster. And, as the president has said, anyone who wants to be tested now can be tested.

So what’s Romney’s problem?

Oh, that’s right.

He’s tried to be president twice and failed, while a rough-and-tumble New York real estate developer who has a way of connecting with more people made it to the Oval Office on his first try.

Trump Speaks Out On California County Shutting Down Tesla Plant, Elon Musk Responds

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump decided to weigh in on the situation unfolding in California between Alameda County and Tesla CEO Elon Musk after the county refused to let Musk re-open his Fremont factory.

“California should let Tesla & [Elon Musk] open the plant, NOW. It can be done Fast & Safely,” President Trump tweeted.

Musk quickly responded to the President’s tweet by saying, “Thank you!”

Check out what the Daily Wire reported:

While Tesla has been allowed to resume business under the California reopening guidelines, Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has encouraged public health officials to adopt stricter measures as deemed appropriate. Alameda County, where Tesla’s Fremont plant is located, is one such California county that has opted to do so.

After Tesla told employees last Thursday that the company would begin to resume operations the following day, Dr. Erica Pan, the interim public health officer for Alameda County, claimed that Tesla was prohibited from re-opening.

On Monday, Musk issued a tweet where he announced that he would be defying the county’s orders and would be opening up the plant immediately.

“Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me,” Musk tweeted.

The comments came after Musk filed a lawsuit against Alameda County, California, after they blocked him from re-opening his Fremont factory despite them lifting regulations on other businesses.

Musk also revealed that he would “immediately” be moving his Tesla headquarters to Nevada or Texas considering Alameda county refused to let him re-open his factory.

“Frankly, this is the final straw,” Musk tweeted. “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.”

Musk has clearly had enough with California’s anti-capitalistic behavior which is why he is planning on leaving the state, citing that Alameda county’s rules are “irrational” and “in violation of constitutional civil liberties.”

“I’m not messing around,” Musk said on Saturday. “Absurd & medically irrational behavior in violation of constitutional civil liberties, moreover by *unelected* county officials with no accountability, needs to stop.”

***Piss Off Democrats With Your FREE Betsy Ross Flag***

The Daily Wire reports:

Lily Mei, the mayor of Fremont, California, came out in support of Tesla resuming business so long as they were committed to finding a “thoughtful, balanced approach.”

The mayor’s statement comes after Musk blasted Alameda County and declared that his company would move its headquarters and unspecified programs out of California. The Tesla CEO also said he would consider moving the entire manufacturing process out of Fremont depending on “how Tesla is treated in the future.”

Dr. Erica Pan, the interim public health office for Alameda County, said during an online town hall on Friday that Tesla did not have “the green light” to resume operations, according to CNBC.

Musk’s plans for leaving California were made more clear in tweets he released on Saturday morning. The Tesla CEO noted that he planned to re-locate Tesla’s headquarters to Texas and/or Nevada. He also accused Alameda County of defying President Trump.

“Tesla is filing a lawsuit against Alameda County immediately. The unelected & ignorant “Interim Health Officer” of Alameda is acting contrary to the Governor, the President, our Constitutional freedoms & just plain common sense!” he said.

In a separate Twitter reply, Musk said: “Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.”

BREAKING: Pelosi Releases $3 Trillion Relief Bill, Focuses On Bailing Out Blue States

On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi released her new $3 trillion coronavirus relief package called the “HEROES Act, standing for the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act, which would be the fourth coronavirus relief package released.

$3 trillion is an enormous price tag and the bill is packed with free handouts to many Democratic cities and states who have been poorly ran for many years.

***FIGHT BACK Against Liberal Censorship. Download Our Free Trump News App***

The Daily Wire reports:

The bill, as expected, is packed with handouts to Democrat constituencies, and features an astounding $375 billion bailout for states and cities — even those whose debt problems predate the novel coronavirus and affiliated lockdowns.

Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) have placed the bill on the House’s schedule for Friday and called the House back into session. The bill is, of course, expected to pass by a slim majority but grind to a halt in the Senate, where Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has vowed to deeply investigate any massive spending bill and hold off on passing a fourth coronavirus relief package until the American economy shows signs of recovery.

The most concerning aspect of the bill is likely the handouts to states and cities, which does carry with it a provision barring states for addressing shortfalls that occurred prior to January 31, 2020, but fails to identify any vehicle by which the Federal government could judge those budget woes as worthy, leaving the door open for states to request billions.

It also allocates $25 billion to the United States Postal Service.

In addition, the HEROES Act splashes out $1.5 billion on “broadband hotspots,” $175 billion to reimburse public health and social services organizations” for health care related expenses or lost revenue attributable to the coronavirus, as well as to support testing and contact tracing to effectively monitor and suppress COVID-19,” and $3.6 billion to states for “contingency planning, preparation, and resilience of elections for Federal office” — likely code for a national vote-by-mail program.

It adds $100 billion for healthcare providers, on top of the billions issued as part of the third coronavirus relief package, the CARES Act. And the bill provides $75 billion to “states, territories, and tribes to address the ongoing needs of homeowners struggling to afford their housing due directly or indirectly to the impacts of the pandemic by providing direct assistance with mortgage payments, property taxes, property insurance, utilities, and other housing related costs.”

In addition to other handouts, the House is giving $5 million to itself to buy “House imaged laptops due to COVID-19. In addition, this funding will support an increase in inventory of satellite phone, Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspots, and updated satellite bandwidth technologies to meet escalating demand of District Offices during COVID-19,” and to outfit Pelosi’s pet Select Committee “that will provide oversight of the funds provided for coronavirus and economic aid.”

In order to make sure average Americans support the bill, it continues the $1,200 monthly payments to individual taxpayers for at least three additional months, though it stops short of the “universal basic income” requested by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and others. Families can receive up to $6,000 in bailout funds.

Ethanol and alternative fuel producers will do well. Pelosi’s bill gives an estimated $2.5 million to biofuel producers and $250 million to biodiesel.

When penning the bill, Pelosi refused help from Republican lawmakers.

“Bipartisan meetings, which have driven previous aid bills toward passage, are on pause,” the Wall Street Journal reports. “Larry Kudlow, a top economic adviser to Mr. Trump, said Friday that formal negotiations over the next coronavirus relief package wouldn’t resume until late May or early June.”

***Piss Off Democrats With Your FREE Betsy Ross Flag***

“We’ve really not been invited into those discussions yet,” said a Republican legislator.

The state bailouts is the center piece for the bill even though republicans have made it clear that they will not be supporting state bailouts considering most of the bailouts would be for blue states that have been mismanaged by Democratic leaders for years.

One poorly run state for example is New York who is ran by Democrat Andrew Cuomo. The governor has stated that he will be asking Congress for a bailout which comes from high Medicaid as well as the fact that millions of people are leaving New York due to high taxes.

Illinois has a similar problem.

“Illinois Senate President Don Harmon last week sent a plea for a $41.6 billion federal bailout to his state’s Democratic Congressional caucus,” the WSJ reported. “He wants $15 billion in no-strings-attached cash; $6 billion for the state’s unemployment trust fund; $10 billion for pensions; and $9.6 billion in unrestricted aid for cities including Chicago and its unreformed pensions.”

DiGenova blasts Obama over Flynn case: ‘He has judicial blood on his hands’

Former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova has been harder on his former employer, the Justice Department, and its signature law enforcement agency, the FBI, than practically anyone else as more information is revealed about “Spygate” and the deep state players allegedly involved.

But in an interview this week, the firebrand supporter of President Donald Trump ripped his predecessor, Barack Obama, for his likely involvement in the persecution and targeting of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

He accused the former president of having “judicial blood on his hands” during a radio interview Monday on “Mornings on the Mall.”

When you put together the last 24 hours, the comments by former President Obama, that ‘this is a threat to the rule of law’, which is an utter joke coming out of his mouth,” diGenova said.

“When you put together Mary McCord’s op-ed, and then some of the statements from people associated with [former special counsel Robert] Mueller, you realize that the Mueller probe was at the beginning, nothing more than a pretext to get the president impeached,” he continued.

“And you realize than anybody in the senior FBI and DOJ levels were in on it, and what’s really fascinating, is when you go back and you look at January 5th, 2017, in the Oval Office, all Intelligence Community leaders, the Vice President [Joe Biden], Sally Yates, [James] Comey, [John] Brennan and Susan Rice – the president of the United States in that meeting, Barack Obama, is discussing the ongoing investigation into the Trump campaign, the inter-transition and the Trump presidency,” diGenova added.

“And, [Obama] says in that meeting, according to Susan Rice, he wants to be kept informed so he can decide whether or not they are going to withhold classified information from the incoming administration involving Russia,” he said.

“That is sedition. That is beyond anything we ever heard about a President leaving office, doing this to his successor. What Obama did in that office was sedition on that day.”

According to FindLaw, here’s the definition of sedition:

The federal law against seditious conspiracy can be found in Title 18 of the U.S. Code (which includes treason, rebellion, and similar offenses), specifically 18 U.S.C. § 2384. According to the statutory definition of sedition, it is a crime for two or more people within the jurisdiction of the United States:

— To conspire to overthrow or destroy by force the government of the United States or to level war against them;

— To oppose by force the authority of the United States government; to prevent, hinder, or delay by force the execution of any law of the United States; or

— To take, seize, or possess by force any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof.

Later, diGenova says “President Obama’s hands are dirty.  They are beyond dirty.  He has judicial blood on his hands.”

“He is responsible for this injustice.  He could have stopped it.  He could have said, ‘what are you idiots doing.  This is against the duly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump.  Why are you doing this?’” he added.

“He didn’t he encouraged it. And he had the brazen, talk about a brazen plot. How brazen they are sitting in the Oval Office on January 5th and saying they might not share intelligence with the incoming administration. And you know what that means? That means they didn’t want to give it to General Flynn,” the former federal prosecutor noted further.

Senate Republicans Cave, Won’t Question Obama On His Part in Flynn Investigation

According to Politico, Senate Republicans are planning on investigating the Obama Administration’s efforts to frame and target national security adviser Michael Flynn after President Donald Trump won the 2016 election. Despite former President Barack Obama’s part in the matter, Republicans don’t plan on questioning him.

On Tuesday while speaking with the media, Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham revealed that he would be investigating former Obama officials including those linked to the Department of Justice and the FBI. He will not however not ask Obama to testify.

***FIGHT BACK Against Liberal Censorship. Download Our Free Trump News App***

“I’m not anticipating calling President Obama,” Graham said. He did however note that he will most likely question FBI Director James Comey and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.

Check out what the Daily Wire reported:

President Donald Trump was direct in his criticism of Obama, tweeting Monday that he believed Obama committed the “biggest political crime in American history, by far!” He also cited conservative radio and television host Buck Sexton, who noted that it appears Obama “used his last weeks in office to target incoming officials and sabotage the new administration.”

“Hope you had fun investigating me. Now it’s my turn.” the president warned.

Senate Republicans, however, want to leave investigating Obama up to U.S. Attorney John Durham, who, at the direction of Attorney General Barr, is still investigating the origins of the FBI investigation into “Russian collusion” — an investigation that turned up next to no evidence that the Trump Administration in any way coordinated with Russian officials to impact the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

Senator John Thune told Politico that, “That’s already being looked at, and we’ve got relevant committees up here that are talking a look at some of those issues too. I always think that at the end, eventually the truth comes out, and I’m sure it will here too.”

***Piss Off Democrats With Your FREE Betsy Ross Flag***

“[Trump] was accused of being a stooge for Putin and then subject to the appointment of a special counsel,” Sen. John Cornyn said. “I understand why the president feels like he’s under assault. But I think we need to do our own independent investigation. Obviously, Mr. Durham is doing his. We’ll hear from them. But I think we have an important role to play in terms of congressional oversight.”

The Daily Wire adds:

Last week’s revelations about Michael Flynn drew a number of Obama administration officials into the spotlight. The plan to target Flynn appears to have included everyone from Comey and Yates, to former UN Ambassador Susan Rice and then-Vice President Joe Biden who, according to Rice’s notes, was present at a meeting where Comey briefed top Obama administration members — and the president — about the ongoing investigation.

Biden, Tuesday, initially denied knowing about the Flynn case but then later admitted he was “aware” of the probe.

Tucker Carlson confronts Trey Gowdy over why Spygate allowed to ‘metastasize’ when GOP controlled Congress

Fox News host Tucker Carlson took former U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy to task Monday night for allowing the Trump-Russia collusion hoax to “metastasize” while Republicans were in control of congress two years after President Trump took office.

The allegation from Carlson came after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) called out Gowdy, a former Republican lawmaker from South Carolina and now a Fox News contributor.

Gaetz, in a segment during an interview on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, said:

[House Intelligence Community Ranking Member] Devin Nunes [R-Calif.] is a patriot. And I’m glad you went through Trey Gowdy’s exquisite questions in 2017 to these corrupt officials. I guess my questions, Sean, would be why was it then in late May in 2018 that Trey Gowdy went on Martha MacCallum’s show and said the FBI did exactly as all of our fellow Americans would have wanted them to do and that it had nothing to do with Donald Trump.

Both of those things have now been proven to be untrue and it seems that Gowdy’s brilliant lawyering back in 2017 that we’re only able to see now proves those statements untrue. The number one question I get asked from Americans is why no one has gone to jail and is held accountable. Unfortunately, when Nunes and Meadows and Jordan and I wanted subpoena power it was [then-House Speaker] Paul Ryan and Trey Gowdy that wouldn’t give us that subpoena power. Democrats sent out hundreds of subpoenas. When we had control and could have run this to the ground in 2017 but we didn’t send out a single subpoena. Not one. And that’s a failure of our Republican leadership.

On his program Monday, Carlson asked Gowdy about that.

“This was driven by the Obama Administration but it was allowed to metastasize because the Republican Congress did not stop it. Why do you think that is?” Tucker asked Gowdy.

Gowdy started out by noting that Carlson referenced Susan Rice, Obama’s national security adviser. He added that in order “to fully understand” what the former president’s role really was in the Russiagate hoax, “you need to read” the rest of an email Rice wrote to herself to ‘document’ an early January 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in which the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign was discussed.

“But you can’t because it hasn’t been declassified,” Gowdy said.

In terms of Russia, Gowdy praised Nunes, then head of the House Intelligence Committee, “for doing a phenomenal job” at attempting to unravel the scandal.

“There were four pillars” that Nunes wanted the committee to examine, Gowdy said: “We’re gonna find out what Russia did; with whom, if anyone, they did it; how to make sure they don’t do it again in 2020; and then the issue of unmasking(s) [of Trump officials] and leaks [to the media].

“It’s just that nobody gave a damn about three of” the four things, Gowdy continued. “The only thing they cared about was the ‘with whom, if anyone,’” he said, adding that he is defensive of Nunes because he “wrapped up his investigation” in the scandal “a lot faster than Bob Mueller, and with a lot less help from anyone.”

Carlson agreed with that assessment, but added that he believes the real problem — FBI abuses — was never adequately addressed by Gowdy or anyone in the Republican leadership.

Carlson then showed Gowdy a clip of him saying on Fox News in 2018 that President Trump was not the focus of the FBI’s probe, when he clearly was.

Gowdy admitted that he was wrong but only because he was believing FBI and DoJ officials who were briefing Congress (and they, obviously, were not being truthful).

“My mistake was relying on the word of the FBI and the DoJ and not insisting on the documents” he would later see proving that Trump was the target and indicating that Peter Strzok, among others, set it all up.

At that point, Carlson and Gowdy go back and forth over the claim that Russia ‘hacked the DNC’ when in fact, there’s been no evidence produced proving that and the head of the cybersecurity company that examined the DNC’s servers, Crowdstrike, admitted under oath his firm wasn’t certain.

McConnell rips Obama, says he ‘should have kept his mouth shut’ about Trump’s virus response

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is generally soft-spoken and non-contentious, but he had some hard words for former President Barack Obama this week.

Specifically, when it comes to the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus, the Kentucky Republican believes the former Oval Office occupant ought to butt out.

“I think it’s a little bit classless, frankly, to critique an administration that comes after you,” said McConnell said Monday during an online campaign event hosted by President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, who is advising his 2020 campaign.

***Get your Patriotic face masks with FREE SHIPPING today***

He added that Obama “should have kept his mouth shut.”

“You had your shot; you were there for eight years. I think the tradition that the Bushes set up — of not critiquing the president who comes after you — is a good tradition,” McConnell continued.

In a leaked private call last week with people who used to work in his administration, Obama blasted the Trump administration’s coronavirus response as “an absolute chaotic disaster.”

McConnell understands that the former president isn’t a big fan of the current president.

“We know he doesn’t like much this administration is doing,” he told Lara Trump, moving on to chastise the former administration for its lack of preparation for handling pandemics.

“Clearly the Obama Administration did not leave to this administration any kind of game plan for something like this,” he said.

But Ronald Klain, Joe Biden’s chief of staff during his vice presidency, disagreed with McConnell.

“We literally left them a 69-page Pandemic Playbook … that they ignored,” he responded in a tweet Monday night. “And an office called the Pandemic Preparedness Office … that they abolished. And a global monitoring system called PREDICT … that they cut by 75%.”

Leaving a ‘game plan’ wasn’t necessary, however, because if anything it was redundant. Several other government agencies including FEMA, the CDC, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Pentagon, at a minimum, all have ‘game plans’ for handing pandemics.

What the Obama administration clearly did not leave the Trump administration were items like stockpiles of masks, gloves, gowns, and ventilators — all of which the current White House has had to scramble for in order to meet the increased demands put on our supplies by the coronavirus.

Also, because those other agencies have planning and personnel in place for pandemics, the Obama White House’s ‘pandemic office’ was also redundant, which is why President Trump got rid of most of it.

***Help Us TAKE DOWN The Liberal Media With Our TRUMP News Mobile App!***

Plus, as Rebeccah Heinrichs noted April 1, writing at National Review, the ultimate blame for the pandemic goes to Communist China and its leader, Xi Jinping.

She noted further that agencies were reorganized by then-National Security Adviser John Bolton:

In January 2017, there were directorates for nonproliferation and arms control, for weapons of mass destruction and terrorism, and for global health security and biodefense. Bolton merged the three directorates into a “counterproliferation and biodefense” directorate. According to administration officials I spoke with, this reorganization was designed in part to have better cooperation between those monitoring and preparing for intentional biological threats on one hand and for naturally occurring biological threats on the other.

She cited examples of directorates that were eliminated or absorbed during the Obama administration under national-security adviser Susan Rice.

“If it is true that consolidating issues and directorates necessarily means that those issues left the United States ill prepared to handle those threats, President Obama’s administration sure has a lot to answer for. Of course, it is not true,” she wrote.

Atlanta Mayor Blames Trump White House For Ahmaud Arbery Shooting

On Sunday, far-left Democratic Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia Keisha Lance Bottoms accused the Trump White House form the shooting of Ahmaud Arbery.

The comments came during an interview on CNN with anchor Jake Tapper.

“The shooting happened back on February 23,” Tapper stated, noting that the charger against the shooters were not made until a video was released to the public of the shooting. “Do you think that the two men were only charged because the video became public?”

***Help Us TAKE DOWN The Liberal Media With Our TRUMP News Mobile App!***

“I think that’s absolutely the reason that they were charged. I think had we not seen that video, I don’t believe that they would be charged,” Bottoms replied. “And it’s heartbreaking that it’s 2020 and this was a lynching of an African-American man. And I think that, you know, my heart goes out to his family.”

Bottoms then twisted the subject matter and blamed President Donald Trump for the shooting, claiming that his “racist” rhetoric was the reason for the shooting.

“I think, again, it’s a part of this bigger issue that we are having in this country. With the rhetoric we hear coming out of the White House in so many ways, I think that many who are prone to being racist are given permission to do it in an overt way that we otherwise would not see in 2020, because you have to remember, Jake, you know, in cities across this country, even if local leadership fails, there was always the backstop of our Justice Department to step in and make sure people are appropriately prosecuted. But we don’t have that leadership at the top right now. It’s disheartening.”

Bottoms then brought her kids into the mix and said that they were scared because of racism: “They are angry. And they are afraid. I think it speaks to the need to have leadership at the top that cares for all of our communities and not just in words but in deeds as well,” she finished.

On Friday, President Donald Trump spoke out on the recently released video showing two armed white men in Georgia killing an unarmed black man who was out jogging.

On February 23rd, 25 year old Arbery was out jogging in Brunswick, Georgia when two armed men followed him in a truck, confronted him, then shot and killed him.

“I saw the tape and it’s very, very disturbing, the tape,” President Trump said on “Fox & Friends.” “I got to see it, it’s very disturbing.”

“I looked at a picture of that young man. He was in a tuxedo … I will say that that looks like a really good young guy,” President Trump said. “It’s a very disturbing situation to me and my heart goes out to the parents and the family and the friends, but yet we have to take it, law enforcement is going to look at it.”

The President continued by asserting that he believes Georgia governor Brian Kemp will take care of the situation.

“Justice getting done is the thing that solves that [racial] problem. Again, it is in the hands of the governor and I’m sure he’ll do the right thing,” he added.

“I mean, to anybody that watched it, certainly it was a disturbing or troubling video no question about that,” President Trump said. “But they have very good law enforcement in the state of Georgia and I’m sure they are going to come up with exactly what happened. It’s a sad thing. Very sad thing. I hate to see that.”
