House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has officially caved and sent the House-passed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.
Now, the GOP-controlled Senate will hold a trial into the bogus allegations against the president — and the president already has one major idea to kick things off.
Trump took to Twitter to blast Pelosi and Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, saying he wanted both top Democrats to appear as witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial.
“Why did Nervous Nancy allow corrupt politician Shifty Schiff to lie before Congress?” asked Trump. “He must be a Witness, and so should she!”
The same morning, Pelosi accused the president of being in “complete denial about Russia’s role” in election meddling during an interview on ABC News.
The Democrat-controlled House passed both articles — obstruction of Congress and abuse of power — against Trump on Dec. 18.
After three weeks of an unprecedented, never-before-seen impeachment stall, Pelosi announced that she would be putting New York Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler in charge of the articles and delivering them to the Senate this week.
The senate impeachment trial will begin this week after nearly a month’s wait.
Democrats are complaining about McConnell possibly holding an unfair investigation, but that’s literally what Democrats just did for three months.
When Democrats hold Soviet-style trials and limit the other side from having any say at all — there’s no problem at all.
But before the impeachment trial likely moves into the Senate — Democrats are whining, issuing ridiculous demands, and already claiming the process is “rigged.”
